Mark Dever Defends His Practice of Separation

June 15, 2008 by Andy Naselli

Mark Dever just posted this short article on the 9Marks blog: “Mark Dever doesn’t practice separation”?

He concludes:

To sum it up, I want my separation from the world to be more pronounced than my separation from other Christians.  Does this make sense?

Mark Minnick MP3s

January 29, 2008 by Andy Naselli

This week Mount Calvary Baptist Church (where Jenni and I were members prior to moving to Chicago) updated its website, and I correspondingly updated this entry on my “MP3s” resource page:

*Mark Minnick (bio): some of the finest expositional preaching I have ever heard. Dr. Minnick, my former pastor, had a formative influence on my theology and philosophy of ministry. (Most downloads are not free, but some are.)

Minnick

Some of the sermons that are (temporarily) available for free downloads include the following series by Dr. Minnick:

  1. 1 Corinthians 13
  2. Galatians 1–2
  3. a Christian view of illness
  4. restoring scripturally defined modesty
  5. responding to trials
  6. the deity of Christ
  7. Mount Calvary’s philosophy of ministry
  8. assurance of salvation

Minnick: “Theology Matters”

October 1, 2007 by Andy Naselli

I benefited immensely in 2003 from these two four-page articles by my former pastor, Dr. Mark Minnick:

  1. “Theology Matters” (part 1)
  2. “Theology Matters” (part 2)

The two PDFs above occur in the middle of the Sept./Oct. and Nov./Dec. 2003 issues of Frontline. These two articles condense Minnick’s outstanding four-part sermon series:

  1. Theology Matters (7-20-03)
  2. Theological Accountability (7-27-03)
  3. Theological Definition (8-10-03)
  4. Assessing Theology (8-17-03)

Mark Minnick on Jesus’ Bones

March 13, 2007 by Andy Naselli

An article from my pastor, Dr. Mark Minnick, appeared in The Greenville News today: “The bones of Jesus of critical concern to Christians: The Bible states explicitly the true nature of Jesus’ resurrected body, including its bones.” It’s well written for his target audience.
