Three Miracles Showing Jesus’ Authority

That’s the title of a 40-minute sermon I preached on Matthew 8:23-9:8 yesterday morning at my church.

Here’s the outline:

  1. Jesus has authority over nature (Matthew 8:23–27).
  2. Jesus has authority over demons (Matthew 8:28–34).
  3. Jesus has authority over sin and sickness (Matthew 9:1–8).

The text suggests at least five responses:

  1. Stand in awe of Jesus.
  2. Cling to Jesus.
  3. Fear Jesus.
  4. Trust Jesus.
  5. Glorify Jesus.

    I just wanted to share that God is using this sermon practically and powerfully in my life concerning certain situations I’m facing. I haven’t been able to meet you yet, but my wife and I just started attending Crossway 2 months ago.
