Michael Barrett Collection in Logos

January 18, 2011 by Andy Naselli

When Logos added the “Michael Barrett Collection” to pre-pub last October, I immediately pre-ordered it. But I’m disappointed that the collection hasn’t gathered sufficient interest yet to proceed to publication. It still needs some more orders.

Michael Barrett is President of Geneva Reformed Seminary. He’s brilliant, and the books in this collection are accessible and edifying.

Just tried to help you out myself and pre-ordered it. I love Dr. Barrett’s work. I imagine you must have had him in school if he was still there when you were working on your first Ph.D.?

Nope. Unfortunately, he had just left when I arrived! But I heard countless stories about him from friends and professors.

Two big thumbs up. I had the privilege of taking 2nd year Greek with him. He can read from his greek NT faster than I can read english, and greek was his hobby.

I don’t have Logos, but I advertised this when it first came out. My pastor had Barrett in seminary and highly recommended Complete in Him” (now, one of my favorite books), and I was extremely edified by The Beauty of Holiness as well. I’m looking forward to reading Love Divine and Unfailing: The Gospel according to Hosea and Beginning at Moses.

One of my favorite professors as a lecturer, but his exams were very humbling. We needed that too!

Michael is a genius and very humble. My sister-in-law attends his church. I met him in college for seminary days.

[…] Beginning at Moses is currently out of print, I believe, but if you can find it used, grab it. (Andy Naselli has mentioned that it may be put by Logos along with Barrett’s other books, but unfortunately […]
