These two MP3s from Sovereign Grace’s 2003 Leadership Conference include Al Mohler’s “testimony about his call to the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in order to highlight key points of his messages”:
It doesn’t get much better in your earbuds than Mohler’s comeback to the postmodernist faculty member who refused to interpret the Bible straightforwardly but insisted on a rigorously literal interpretation of his contract—followed by C. J. Mahaney’s uproarious laughter. I was edified (and, I admit, entertained). I highly recommend these two MP3s.

Dan Phillips says
He was really on-fire, for Mohler, for those. Very engaging.
John Botkin says
As a Southern Baptist, there was a lot of information in those talks that didn’t know before listening. I found myself moved to tears at some places at the grace and power of God through faithful men and women.
Lloyd Douglas says
After listening to Al Mohler describe the efforts and sacrifice that many people within the SBC put in over a period of twenty plus years at their conventions to put people who had solid Biblical beliefs and the resulting hiring of Al as president of Southern Baptist Seminary with the direct persecution, that is what it was, over some years as he and many with him stood for Christ and the Word of God I was significantly impacted.
This impact has resulted in strong motivation to focus on working within a group of churches to put forward people who are have Biblical convictions in order that a broader impact to change specific churches can occur. This particularly invovles our local seminary.
Thank you Al and all those who have stood and continue to stand for Christ in a culture that more and more opposes Christ. Also, praise the Lord for His unfailing love and sovereign control in raising up men and women, both those in key leadership positions and those who are often unnamed to the greater Christian community, who have been drawn to Christ by His effetual working through the Spirit for God’s glory and, as John Piper would say, our joy!
