The Ology: A New Systematic Theology for Kids

November 3, 2015 by Andy Naselli

the_ology_bookThis new systematic theology for kids just released:

Marty Machowski. The Ology: Ancient Truths Ever New.   Illustrated by Andy McGuire. Greensboro, NC: New Growth, 2015. 257 pp. 9-page sample PDF.

You can read 16 endorsements here.

Here’s mine: “This well-illustrated book clearly and logically introduces theology for children.”

When my wife (who has a degree in Early Childhood Education) first saw the book, she remarked that she really likes the illustrations.

When my seven-year-old first saw the book the afternoon it arrived in the mail, she promptly read through the whole book in one sitting! And along the way she noticed a theology lesson that refers to root beer floats, so guess what we’ve been having for dessert recently at the Naselli home?

Sovereign Grace Music released a creative children’s album to accompany the book:

I added this new album along with a few others such as Waiting Songs to my post “Bible Memory for Young Children.”

Update: Here’s a video of the album’s opening song:

Update: The chorus from the album’s second song (“Just the Way God Wanted Us to Be”) is increasingly controversial in our culture:

We are the image of the God of all the world.
He made us boys; he made us girls.
Different pieces of the puzzle joined together perfectly,
We are just the way God wanted us to be.
