Jenni and I are enjoying listening to The Complete Conan Doyle Sherlock Holmes dramatized by BBC (64 CDs, 48 hours, and featuring a full cast), and we found the following statement particularly striking when we heard it last night:

You know, Andy, Holmes could have been thinking of certain “Evangelical” OT scholars who crave academic respectibilty and are willing to dump inerrancy to get it.
And Andy, Conan Doyle is much better read than watched or listened to. I think I had read the complete Sherlock Holmes by the time I was 14 or 15. It is terrific reading.
