Thanks for posting this. It seems that I am seeing more and more people who are espousing the libertine view: the NT doesn’t explicitly command tithing, therefore, all giving is optional. (Oddly, they also seem to be the first ones, and often the loudest ones, to complain about the church’s finances.)

This material will help me preach the Bible’s message about giving without lapsing into the other extreme of legalism.

Thanks for posting this note. It was a privilege to be visiting and hear the sermon live. I too have heard many many sermons on giving, and I believe that this one is the finest—by far.

To any who read this, I implore you to download the sermon and listen. Gospel-centered preaching leads to gospel-centered giving. I was blessed and convicted by the sermon.
