Modern OT and NT Study

I just discovered this accessible pair of articles by a couple evangelical scholars who used to teach NT together at Aberdeen:

  1. P. J. Williams, “Modern Old Testament Study
  2. Simon Gathercole, “Modern New Testament Study

Related: See Mark Dever’s interview “The New Perspective on Paul with Simon Gathercole and Peter Williams” (MP3).

    Andy,

Other than Piper’s book that we received at T4G, what other book/s do you know of that clearly lay out the tenets of New Perspectivism and answer those tenets Biblically? Do you have any that you recommend?

Carson, O’Brien, and Seifrid’s Justification and Variegated Nomism (vol. 1 and 2) is the most comprehensive technical resource on this issue. See esp. the first article in vol. 2 by Westerholm for a useful survey. There are also a number of helpful articles available online (cf. one of my posts from August 2007: “More on the New Perspective(s) on Paul“).

Thank you, Andy. I appreciate it.
